Terms of Service

Last updated: February 6, 2026

Welcome to Guildhall Media. By accessing or using any services hosted on guildhallmedia.org and its subdomains (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately and contact the Operator at [email protected] to have your account removed.

1. Nature of the Service

Guildhall Media is a private, invite-only media server operated by an individual (the "Operator") for personal, non-commercial use. It is not a public service, a commercial streaming platform, or a content distribution network. Access is extended at the sole discretion of the Operator to a small group of personally known and individually invited users.

The media available through Guildhall Media consists of the Operator's personal media collection, including content that has been purchased, ripped from personally owned physical media (DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs, vinyl), or otherwise lawfully obtained. The server functions as a personal media library—comparable to lending a book from a private shelf or playing a record at a gathering of friends.

2. Personal Use Only

All content accessible through Guildhall Media is provided strictly for personal, non-commercial, private streaming. By using this Service, you agree to the following:

3. Account Security & Access

4. User Content and Conduct

You are solely responsible for all data, text, files, information, media, and other content that you upload, post, transmit, or otherwise make available via the Service ("User Content"), including its legality, reliability, accuracy, and appropriateness. The Operator does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any User Content. By making User Content available through the Service, you represent and warrant that: (a) you either own all rights to your User Content or have obtained all necessary permissions, licenses, and authorizations; (b) your User Content does not and will not infringe, misappropriate, or violate any third party's intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other personal or proprietary rights; (c) your User Content does not contain any material that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable; and (d) your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

5. Prohibited Conduct

6. Termination and Access Revocation

The Operator may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason or for no reason, at its sole discretion, with or without prior notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. The Operator may also delete any User Content associated with your account. You agree that the Operator shall not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your access to the Service.

7. No Guaranteed Access

The Service is provided on a voluntary basis. The Operator may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice. You agree that the Operator shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service. You have no right, contractual or otherwise, to continued access. The Operator is not a data storage or backup provider, and you are solely responsible for maintaining copies of any data you transmit through or store on the Service.

8. Copyright, Fair Use & DMCA

The media hosted on Guildhall Media is sourced from the Operator's personal, lawfully obtained collection, including physical media and digital purchases. The Operator maintains this server for personal use and believes in good faith that making personal backup copies and format-shifting media for private use is consistent with principles of fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107.

This Service does not distribute or make content available to the general public. It operates as a private, closed system accessible only to personally known and individually invited users.

Copyright Infringement and Repeat Infringer Policy

The Operator respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Service to do the same. It is the policy of the Operator to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of copyright. If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement and is accessible on the Service, please notify the Operator's designated copyright agent as set forth in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 ("DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SERVICE IS WITH YOU.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE OPERATOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (i) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE; (ii) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; (iii) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE; OR (iv) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE OPERATOR'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100.00) OR THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID THE OPERATOR IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Operator from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or relating to: (i) your access to or use of the Service; (ii) your User Content; (iii) your violation of these Terms; or (iv) your violation of any rights of any third party, including any intellectual property, privacy, or other proprietary right. This indemnification obligation will survive the termination of these Terms and your use of the Service.

Your continued use of the Service after accepting modified Terms constitutes your agreement to the modified Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the Operator regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.
